Coming from the Greek word meaning “King” or “Royal”,
Basil is best fresh, as it loses much of it’s flavor when dried. To
preserve, rinse, dry well and put in an airtight container in the
freezer for later use. Fresh Basil is great on pizza, burgers, sandwiches,
in salads, Italian sauces and combined with pine nuts,
olive oil and parmesan for a tasty pesto. It’s loaded with Iron,
Calcium, Potassium and Vitamin C.
